Inception opening scene

In the first scene when the word 'syncopy' comes up it is in the form of a puzzle and it makes you have to use your brain to figure out what its saying even though it should be obvious. this prepares you and makes you aware of what is to come. Automatically when the man wakes up on a beach with no knowledge of how he got there it leads you to think, how did he get there? this also shows the nature of the film is going to be one of which you have to use your brain to figure out. It is mysterious and gets you engaged but also alerts your focus so you are attentive to everything including surroundings.
